Fancy taking your DIY skills up a level? Or probably the safer set of circumstances is that you already work with gear like this and won’t end up with stigmata in your hands. The DeWALT DCN680 is a brushless XR 18 Gauge Brad Nailer which comes with two 2.0Ah XR Li-Ion battery packs with state of charge indicator, a multi-voltage XR charger and the TSTAK-VI Heavy Duty Kitbox for storage and travel.
Designed to be compact, lightweight and ergonomic tool, the kit means its easily portable and ready to work on site, it is mechanical instead of gas operated which not only produces lower running costs but consistent performance too. It has a brushless motor that provides an increased runtime and durability, the trigger and contact trip lock-off is there as a safety measure to ensure there isn’t any accidental discharge (no one likes that). The depth of drive can be adjusted by using a comfortable thumb wheel depth adjuster, there are two modes of operation to choose from, the Sequential mode allows for a perfectly precise placement and the Bump mode lets you fire out up to four nails per second like a Transformer warrior.
Additional features include rear loading, an integrated belt hook, fault indicator and a magazine capacity of up to 110 nails with a nail diameter of 1.25 (18Ga) mm and a nail length of 15 - 54 mm. The DCN680D2 is wonderfully portable with no leads or gas holding you back you can get into the most awkward of areas, it is very easy to use but a bit bulky so may be a bit difficult for smaller hands to hold onto for long periods of time, the Sequential mode helps you get pin point precision every time and the tough heavy duty kit boxes keeps the Nailer safe on site and when travelling.
