This mini quad is ultra-cute at 110mm x 95mm x 35mm it is small enough to zip about the house and as these little quads go this one is nicely put together. All too often these little machines are cheaply made with nasty flimsy plastic but this quad feels stronger than your average quad. I love it’s look with a nice blue under carriage and front propellers and some cheeky racing stripes on top, it’s the kind of quality I have come to expect from Revell. The modern 6-axis gyro system and the built-in level sensor with automatic height adjustment makes the Steady Quad so easy to fly, perfect for beginners or even those who are more experienced but are just looking for an easier ride. As a direct result of this the video you get from the appropriately named Steady Quad is so smooth for a quad in this category, no it won’t be hired to film the latest David Attenborough documentary but for just under £80 it produces clear and smooth video that you won’t get from other quads in this price range. The Steady Quad is equipped with two speed levels and offered Headless-Mode and Flip-Function, a range of about 50 meters and a battery life of 4-5 mins (with an 80 min charge time) not a great length of time but it can’t be sniffed at due to the powerful little motors and stabilising features it’s pretty impressive that is manages to keep up with its competitors at all. After bashing it about the house a couple of times its main chassis proved very resilient, the propellers however weren’t as tough, they didn’t ping off like cheaper models but I did find they dented and scuffed very easily, as this stage it doesn’t appear to have affected the flight though and there are always spare propellers for when I mash them up beyond repair. This is a classy little quadcopter that is everything you could wish for with a beginner quad, easy to fly, wonderfully steady footage and a more then reasonable price tag, plus is looks and feels awesome what more could you want.
