The Zidoo X6 Pro is a 64 bit ARM Android TV Box powered by a Rockchip RK3368 Processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of eMMC Flash Storage. So whats inside the box? You receive a Zidoo X6 Pro Unit, Power Adaptor, HDMI Cable, IR Remote Control, Instruction Manual, Warranty Card and a Quality Control Card. I like the design of the X6 Pro with a 100mm square box design with a height of 20mm it can be tucked away easily, connections are on the rear and left hand side of the device and include two USB 2.0, Micro SD card slot, Toslink digital audio out, HDMI 2.0 Port and LAN connection.
I really enjoyed the simplicity of the user interface, very simple to navigate through with the remote and it was easy to create customisable shortcuts. It is worth mentioning at this point that I was very impressed with both the design and layout of the remote control and the fact you can turn the X6 Pro on and off with the remote as with a lot of competitors in this price bracket you don’t get this luxury. The real USP of the device is that they have produced a really well designed Remote app for Android which allows your phone/tablet to take full control of the X6 Pro, once you have downloaded the app you get a remote control interface as well as a games controller with touchscreen operation which is a real nice touch.
Video playback was really good up to the point where I started testing in 4K where it wasn’t as smooth, for me this is the best RK3368 box I have reviewed to date and with good to excellent handling of both video and gaming content and an RRP of £79 makes the Zidoo X6 Pro a great Android Box choice.
