This is the second mirror I have reviewed from Simplehuman and as I loved the first one I had high hopes for this model. In all honesty I didn’t think there was much more that could be done to improve the last one, but I was wrong.
This 20cm mirror is the perfect size for any bathroom or bedroom. This is a three in one mirror with its x1, x5 and x10 magnification faces. The x1 is ideal for checking your entire face at a true size in a very clear mirror. The x5 magnification gives your face with an enhanced clarity. And for very close work you can view through the x10.
The mirror looks and feels quality with the brushed metal finish coupled with its heavy weight. Once the mirror is charged with the standard USB cable it will last up to 5 weeks. The light surround can be turned off however when the sensor is on it will detect when you are in front of it and light up. The strength of light is touch changed with a range from 100 lux to 800 lux. The Tru-lux system illuminates in a nice natural light to ensure you make up goes on how you want it to be.
It has a mirror face on both sides and is easily flipped around with the use of a knob on its side to avoid finger marks on the glass.
This mirror isn’t the cheapest on the market but then the best of anything often isn’t. It comes with a 5-year guarantee so if you break the cost down over these 5 years it becomes very affordable.
As a side note I love the way it will recognise my movement as I creep into the bathroom in the middle of the night. As I get older this happens more often and I don’t want to wake up my family using the full-blown bathroom light. The mirror will switch on a gentle light which shows the way and then turn itself off.
