The summer is here, it is time to get the BBQs out and because giving your friends and family food poisoning is frowned upon the GrillEye PRO Plus is also here to be your sous chef. This handy gadget is a grilling and smoking thermometer that features hybrid-wireless connectivity. The kit comes with the GrillEye PRO Plus Smart Grilling and Smoking Device, two GrillEye Meat and Ambient Temperature Probes, two clips for ambient temperature readings, a quick user manual and GrillEye PRO Plus USB mini cable for charging. The PRO Plus is straightforward to use; simply insert the probe into your food and receive real-time feedback on its cooking status via either the 2.7” Active Matrix screen which is readable under direct sunlight or via the GrillEye PRO app. The advantage to the app is you can read the information from anywhere and as a terrible chef this means my partner can check on the food whilst on a beer run and let me know if I need to make any adjustments. The Pro can be connected via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi and will switch between them automatically when you move out of range.

The PRO can track up to eight different probes at a time (sold separately), letting you cook everyone’s steaks just the way they like them in one go. The probes have been constructed from space-grade aluminium that won't melt in your food, the body has a 360˚ adjustable viewing angle with rotating body, letting you see how things are progressing without moving from your chair. It comes with a magnetic mount so you can attach the GrillEye to your barbecue utensil or grill and the power management feature uses proximity illumination, reducing the screen backlight up to 100% when you are not close to help save energy. You can set custom temperature and timer alarms or use the pre-sets, which means you can step away from the BBQ and enjoy socialising with your guests. The GrillEye PRO Plus provided accurate readings during our testing and the wireless connection meant we could check in on our food from any location, it is such a simple idea but ensures your food is cooked safely and to your liking whilst letting you enjoy being outdoors with your friends and family.
