The SnoozeShade line is an innovative series of sunshades for your prams and strollers. Invented by UK mum Cara Sayer, the Surrey-based entrepreneur wanted an easy, practical and reliable way to keep her children shielded from the sun, and now with the SnoozeShade Plus Deluxe, her solution is more effective than ever.

The SnoozeShade can apparently attach to any pram or stroller -  even jogging strollers and bike trailers! Its eight sets of straps seemed daunting at first, but it was easy to set up once we got started. The SnoozeShade website even has some helpful hints in case you get stuck! The main tip is that you don’t have to use all the straps – they’re there to give you options so that your sunshade can attach securely to whatever pram you own.

You can tell that this product was designed by a mum. The front panel opens to allow easy access to your baby, which is really useful for easily getting them in and out of the stroller. To check on your baby during your walk, there’s also a handy zip along the top that lets you peek in without letting in too much light. There’s even a pocket that doubles as a place to store the front panels when you’re not using them: as all parents know, you can never have too many pockets!

The black window seems extremely dark from the outside, and I worried that babies wouldn’t be able to see out of it at all, but looking through, it’s more like wearing sunglasses. This panel blocks 80% of UV, which is brilliant for protecting your baby’s sensitive skin and eyes on a bright day. For even more protection, you can double up the mesh to block 97.5% UV (UPF40+). This second panel is also useful for when your child needs a nap. This mesh lets air pass easily through it, so you don’t have to worry about your baby getting too warm, and as well as protecting against the light, it also shields against insects and the wind.

What really impressed us about the SnoozeShade is its level of safety. This mesh breathes better than many alternative products, and its safety standards ensure that it’s suitable for babies - not just toddlers. (Whilst the Plus Deluxe is for 6 months + due to its size, the SnoozeShade Original is perfect for newborns). No wonder it’s won over 70 awards!
