Moodo AIR + 1 filter + 4 capsules: £149.90
Scent Family Pack of 4 capsules: £32.90
Single capsules: £13.90
The Moodo AIR is a new addition to MoodoAIR’s Moodo line, developing on the original Moodo air freshener by creating a fantastic air freshener and purifier 2-in-1.
The Moodo and Moodo AIR go a step above regular air fresheners by allowing you to combine four scents together, however you like. You can control this combo using the accompanying app, allowing you to either blend four scents together into a nuanced scent-scape, or else you can move throughout the day from one pair of scents in the morning and a different pair in the evening! The possibilities are indulgently endless.
Every Moodo product can be used with the same scent capsules. These capsules contain fragrances custom-made for the brand by French perfumers, and honestly, I was amazed at the quality of the scents. I hadn’t expected the subtle range of scents within each aroma, and with that quality in mind, the huge number of scents you can choose from is really remarkable.
Unsure how best to utilise the four-scent combo? Thankfully, you can buy four-capsule packs called Ambience Families, which group complimenting scents together under themes such as Aromatherapy, Ashram SPA etc. We received two Ambience Family packs to use with our Moodo AIR: the first was ‘Beach Party’, which included the scents Sea Breeze, Monoi De Tahiti, Sweet Sand and Amber Marine. The second was ‘Cozzzy’, presumably put together to help you sleep: this pack came with Orange Sunrise, Grandma Vanilla, Precious Spices and Midnight Thrill.
I loved both of these combinations, and they definitely put you in different moods. I tried Beach Party in my living room and, because of the name, I tried Cozzzy in my bedroom. Beach Party was my favourite, and like I said before, the quality of all of the capsules was surprisingly good. I appreciate the existence of these Ambience Families to get you started: it feels as though it would be easy to mix four clashing scents and end up missing out on the magic of the Moodo AIR. There are 11 of these themed packs to choose from as a starting point, and I found that from this base, I then felt that I would be more confident in trying different individual capsules to trade in and out with some of the existing scents.
It’s far more fun that you might expect, playing with fine-tuning your scent-scape – I can see it becoming a costly addiction, creating different scents for different rooms, morning and evening! Speaking of price, do note – the Moodo AIR is not just an air freshener. It is also an air purifier, and this addition is what sets the Moodo AIR and the regular Moodo apart, both in functionality and price (this additional feature will cost you an additional £40 compared to the original Moodo.) Air purifiers themselves are far from cheap, so this does make sense in terms of value, but it’s worth noting that if it’s just the aromas and ability to blend them that you’re after, you can consider the Moodo original.
The Moodo Air’s scents can reach up to 600 sq ft. It is easy to control via the accompanying app, allowing you to set different combinations with a really helpful colour-coded pie-chart to visualise your ratios. You can even integrate it into your Alexa or other smart home system, if you feel like putting a Jess Bezos spy-bot in your home. The capsules can give 60 hours of continuous use in full speed, so if you just set them to puff out a top-up to the air now and then, you could keep them going for ages. Even better, the capsules are fully recyclable, so you can dispose of them guilt-free!
