This year was the first time I had ever gone Snowboarding (on actual snow) and I was given an itinerary of what I will need gloves, helmet, board etc and I will admit was a bit naïve as I didn’t give gloves that much importance.
On reflection after spending eight days in Valmorel France I realise now how fortunate I was to be able to test Columbia Mens Winter Catalyst glove, I wore these eight days straight and it was only when a friend was complaining about how cold and wet his hands were I said “really mine are toasty warm.” What makes this even more impressive was the first day took a lot of adjustment from the dry slopes and I was falling over at least twice a minute, all I could really manage was toe edge breaking down the piste (it’s worth adding a big thanks here to all that came as no one videoed this to my surprise).
I can say without hesitation that these gloves are completely waterproof, the shell is made from 90% Polyester/10% Elastane Stretch Max Softshell, the palm Pittards goat skin leather and the extremely comfortable lining is Omni-Heat thermal reflecting and insulated.
Features of the glove are the nose wipe on the thumb (used a lot!), one hand shock cord hem adjustment, removable safety leash, 3-Point precurve and lastly the long gauntlet. Love these..... RRP £90
