It’s strange to think that when you go fishing and you are sat in your chair, enjoying the sun (if you are lucky), all the action is taking place out of sight just a few meters away. It’s all too easy to imagine, after a few hours, that there is a prize-winning fish sitting next to the line having a giggle at your expense. Well, now you can spy into all that underwater drama with the use of the GoFish Cam (not to be mistaken with a Plenty of Fish cam). The company claims that 95% of the fishing experience takes place underwater, but you can use the cam to capture the whole experience, re-live your favourite moments once you are back home and bore your friends, family and strangers on the street.

The GoFish Cam is a wireless underwater camera that sits on your fishing line by attaching in-line between your test line and leader line. You can then view your footage via the companion mobile app. This camera can be used in both freshwater and saltwater conditions. It will capture underwater video when casting, trolling, bottom fishing, ice fishing, kayak fishing, and float fishing. It is easy to attach to the line and works with all styles, measuring up at 11.5cm long and pre-weighted to an optimized 94g (no added weights necessary). It's ideal for small mouth bass, pike, and even larger saltwater fish. When it comes to bottom fishing, you can put the cam on your rig setup and sink it, and for trolling you can bait your fish lines and the three stabilisation fins, and the pre-set weight system lets you troll at slow or fast speeds. When it comes to float fishing, you can stream in real time straight to your mobile device, with the GoFish Cam Float Accessory that lets you view the underwater action with a top-down point of view.

The camera records in HD, has night vision, can be used up to 150M (~500 Feet) depth and has built-in WiFi. The armoured casing provides protection, whilst the hydrodynamic shape gives you steady recording. The rechargeable battery will fill in 1.5hrs and it gives you about 1.5hrs recording time on the highest quality, 1080, 60FPS. You can squeeze out 2.5-3hrs on 720, 60FPS, but using the WiFi will drain the battery at a faster rate.

The GoFish Cam might not make a regular appearance on your line, but it is entertaining to look back and see the action just before your catch, and to get a better understanding of what kind of fish are in the area, what bait to use and what the structure looks like. RRP $239.99
