When using a foam roller it can seem like your worst enemy; the uncomfortable sensation of pushing into tight and tired muscles can be hard to bear at times, but these things are really your best friends, allowing you to massage all your muscles and speeding up healing and recovery. The Pulseroll foam rollers take things up a notch by adding vibrations to help loosen muscles, flush away lactic acid and increase blood flow. We received the Vibrating Foam Roller Pro and Vibrating Peanut Ball, both products are very similar apart from the obvious shape differences, but the foam roller offers a Pulsating mode as well as the other four. The shape differences enable you to target different muscles easier, the foam roller working well on larger muscle groups like your legs and glutes for example, whilst the peanut is great for the neck, arms (especially if they are little like mine) and the muscles along the spine.
The Pulseroll can also be used to help to build up your core muscles by doing various exercises such as the plank, knee stretch, the bridge and various other manoeuvres, as if they weren’t hard enough on their own. Both Pulserolls can be adjusted via the buttons on the device or if getting in and out of position is too tricky you can control it from an app on your device. There are four intensity settings (excluding the Pulsate mode on the Foam Roller), from as little a 2000RPM (2200RPM on the Peanut) all the way up too 4000RPM. The Pulseroll is powered from a rechargeable battery that takes three hours to receive a full charge, with the Foam Roller lasting up to 240 minutes and the Peanut up to 300 minutes. Both devices are heavier than your normal foam rollers due to the battery and components inside, but this doesn’t stop them being easily portable, however you might want to consider the noise they make when taking them to the local gym, which is amplified on certain floor types (floorboards for example). The control panel on the foam roller was a little flimsy and could do with more durable construction, and the grooves could do with being a touch deeper just to really work into those muscles. The Peanut is super intense at its highest level, the shape helps you target smaller areas and is ideal for slinging in your gym bag, both of the products are versatile and can be used to warm up, cool down and stretch out those muscles leaving you with more relaxed, flexible muscles and promoting quick recovery.RRP £119.99 and £89.99
