Designed specifically for spring and autumn rides, the Pro Team Shadow Long Sleeve Jersey is made from a DWR Hydrophobic combination of 53% polyamide and 47% elastane, available only in black (with a reflective strip on the left arm to help you to be seen on those gloomier days).

The Shadow was developed in response to a request from Team Sky for kit that lacked the bulk of heavy winter clothing, yet kept their riders dry and comfortable in the worst weather conditions. The Jersey was then worn by the team throughout the Spring Classics races, most notably by Wout Poels during his victory in the snow, sleet and rain of the 2016 Liège-Bastogne-Liège. The Shadow offers the warmth, wind and water resistance of a jacket, but with the comfort and freedom of movement of a jersey. It features stretch-woven fabric that provides a contoured compression style fit and a super soft brushed inside that feels lovely against your skin, and a VISLON® zipper with good sized zip pull that makes it easy to zip up or adjust whilst wearing gloves.

For extra protection against hard rain, the seams over the shoulders, arms and torso are all taped, and there are drill holes in some rear pockets to let any rain water out for better performance. The special thing about the Pro Team Shadow Long Sleeve Jersey is that it feels pleasant to wear, and it has the right amount of fit and flexibility whilst at the same time providing water resistance. Normally, for this level of water resistance, the material is going to have a plastic feel, which in turn reduces the breathability of the fabric and sacrifices the comfort element, but that is simply not the case with the Shadow. When out on a dry ride, we found that moisture did collect in the back pockets (sweaty back). All my gear was waterproof, but this is maybe something to consider is you are used to putting your phone in your rear pockets.
