Swingbyte 2

With the weather finally turning a corner, it’s time to blow off the cobwebs on your gold clubs and get back out onto the green! If this is the year you have decided to up your game then you maybe tempted to look at getting some high-tech gear to help you on your way.

Motocaddy S5 Connect

The Motocaddy S5 is a world first in the golf trolley world: capable of being linked to the ‘Motocaddy GPS’ free App (available on Apple Store and Google Play store) via a Bluetooth connection which allows the trolly’s digital display to be used as GPS, it can then provide you with front, middle and back distances on the green, as well as the par of the hole, a clock and a round timer.

GolfBuddy LR5

If you haven’t played with a GolfBuddy before it could really be a game changer for you, of course it isn’t for everyone but it can make the game faster and more entertaining. The LR5 is a light weight laser range finder that will accurately judge distances on the range and let you choose your club accordingly. At first look it feels a strongly constructed piece of kit having said that the LR5 isn’t heavy, it only weighs 8oz/0.5lb, it looks eye-catching too with blue detailing.

Explanar golf training system

Golf is one of the most satisfying if not frustrating games that I have ever played. It takes dedication and time to master and it’s fair to say that most of us simply aren’t up to par. On paper the game appears simple- hit the ball into the hole, however in that simple instruction there are so many things that can go wrong. All golfers have thought long and hard about improvement and how to optimise their game. Personally, I am obsessional about my swing and constantly think about how I can better it.

Zepp Golf 2

The Zepp Golf 2 is the next generation of the Zepp Golf. Its new features include the Smart Coach training system, which measures your full swings on the course and allows you to compare swing metrics and consistency from round to round and from range to course. All you need to do is take a few swings, and the Zepp 2 will instantly collect data that can be used to assess the areas in which you could improve, and will even offer training programs that are tailor-made to help you advance in your technique.

Swing Speed Radar with Tempo Timer

The Swing Speed Radar with Tempo Timer has been created to optimise your clubhead speed and tempo time. Endorsed by Jim McLean, this device provides you with feedback on your clubhead speed in relation to ball distance, whilst feedback on your tempo time indicates how consistent and repeatable your swing is, giving you a clearer idea of your performance and consistency. You can measure either reading alone or combine the two.

OptiShot 2 Golf Simulator

The OptiShot 2 is the world’s most popular golf simulator; it can help you improve your game, play all year round or compete with friends and family. You can play OptiShot 2 on your computer or  pair it with your HDTV or projector. In the box, you get everything you need: the OptiShot2 Infrared Optical Swing Pad, OptiShot2 Software (download), 10ft USB Cable, adjustable rubber tees, two foam practice balls, instructions, a one-year warranty and software updates.

GolfBuddy LD2

The LD2 by GolfBuddy is a GPS golf watch designed for women, because all women have evolved from magpies (true story). We are all instinctively drawn to shiny objects so the LD2 wouldn’t be a “ladies” watch without some Swarovski crystals stuck on it. Needless to say I am not a fan of the pointless sparkle on a chunky digital watch, but the added bling may attract some people. More importantly is how the LD2 performs as a technical accessory. It is small, lightweight (1oz with battery) and comfortable to wear.
