Designed with funky RGB lighting, the MG300 Multimedia Speaker by Edifier is sure to transform your desk into the set-up of your dreams.

The MG300 is a lightweight speaker which boasts to deliver top quality sounds all encased in a minimalist yet futuristic design. When you first open the speaker, the unit is all black with a top control panel and a mesh front speaker cover. However, when you plug in the speaker to your laptop or computer, it has lights around the edges of the mesh panel to add a fun colourful element to your desk blending a minimalist modern design with a fun futuristic look.

I attached the speaker via the USB cord to my computer and was impressed with how easy it is to use. On the top, there are silicone-covered buttons which let you control the speaker. I turned on the speaker and began playing some music from my desktop and was impressed with the sound quality. The speaker has 52mm drivers, which work to provide great sound whether you’re gaming or listening to music. These two modes come built into the speaker, and you can easily switch between them from the control panel. The music mode amplifies the singer's voice, whilst the gaming mode enhances every single slight noise – perfect for a whole range of games where a slight noise could lose you the game.  

Even if gaming isn’t for you, the speaker is great as an audio solution for your desktop which even has a built-in microphone under a silicone top, designed to isolate external vibrations and deliver a clear voice for calls. Whilst I wouldn’t say that the speaker provides the best sound quality for calls, it’s a great addition should you be left without your microphone for an urgent call. One of my favourite aspects of the MG300’s design is the slanted front panel which helps to reduce glare whilst at your computer. This shows the careful detail put into every aspect of the design, along with the thick anti-slip pads, to ensure a great and reliable user experience every time.

If you are on the hunt for a new desktop speaker, which will fit seamlessly into your gaming or work set-up, with a powerful sound and unique futuristic design, then the Edifier MG300 is a super easy choice – and at such an affordable price!
