Hug My Cat Pet Food Taster Box

£13.50

It is true that for most of us, our pets are an extension of our family, and it is with this philosophy that Hug Pet Food make their products. The Hug My Cat Food line, much like the Hug My Dog Food we previously reviewed, focuses on giving your feline friends top-quality meals made from 100% British meat and a range of seasonal veggies. We, well our cats, got to try out the Taster box which includes samples of the Just Beef, Salmon and Chicken and Just Lamb meals for cats.

The meals are the first cat ready-meals available on the market, using human-grade food but carefully designed with our beloved cats in mind. Each meal is high in protein and packed full of great omega-3, and a range of probiotics, vitamins, and minerals to ensure our cats are getting the very best dinners to support their brain and joint health.

Each meal arrives freshly frozen to your door, and you simply pop them in the freezer until you need them. To prepare the meals for your cats, you defrost the meals in the fridge, and once fully defrosted you simply put the meals in the microwave or warm them on the stove top ready for your pet to eat. However, be sure to let them cool a little before you feed them to the cat!

I warmed up the Just Beef meal for my cat and it did have quite a strong smell, but once slightly cooled my cat went crazy for it. He was more than thrilled to have some high-quality meat and a range of veggies perfect to support his health. Whilst the smell for me personally wasn’t great, I can’t ignore how much my cat loved it.

If you are thinking about changing up your cat's food and want to make sure that they are receiving top-quality food that is designed for them without the filler and excessive legumes of other cat food products, then this is a must-try for your cat.

Pros:

  • All made from 100% British meat and vegetables
  • Loved by fussy pets as a great alternative to standard cat food options
  • Contains no fillers and legumes

Cons:

  • Has a rather strong smell when cooking which is great for cats, but wasn’t great for me
  • Does add a few extra steps into feeding your pet with defrosting, cooking and cooling – but seems worth it for the top-quality ingredients
