In a constantly modernised world where more and more people spend their days at a desk, finding the right equipment for the perfect workspace has increasingly become a big problem. Particularly, I find trying to find the right desk lamp a huge pain as it is a vital component to a productive working desk. In the past, I have had many desk lamps have such a huge base that it takes up too much room. (Room that could be used for my computer and many papers) Some others have ended up being too dim or too bright, particularly combined with the glare of a computer screen. Finding the best lamp for a productive desktop is still a great skill.

It is for this reason that I was thrilled to try Humanscale’s Infinity LED Task Light. Right from the get-go, the lamp is very aesthetically pleasing, looking like it should belong in a swanky skyscraper office in New York. This is mainly due to its sleek structure, as each part of the lamp is made to be compact but very efficient. This gives it a clinal and efficient nature, matching many other Humanscale products. In particular, it allows me to have ample room for the working office environment, as it has a small but sturdy base, combined with the long and adjustable arm allows that enables you to adjust the light in the optimum position, working best with the L6 Laptop holder so that you can see past the glare of the screen. It also covers a wider area, due to its extended arm when in comparison to the Nova, creating a greater circumference of lighting.

The light itself does not come from a chunky lightbulb but a slim line of LED lighting which gives off clean but smooth lighting that is sure to keep you productive through your tiring days at the desk. The ergonomic design alongside the powerful lighting works to create a clear, single shadow. Again, the forethought shines through, as it allows the entirety of the desk to be illuminated.

The powerful and efficient lighting is held in place using what Humanscale call ‘Forever Hinges’. This is the cherry on top of a very well-designed cake, as the light and connecting arm are held rigidly in place no what matter what contortion you put it in. This small but highly attractive feature reflects how Humanscale really have thought of everything!!
