Imarku Classic Design Chef Knife 8”
$49.99
When it comes to the kitchen, I want every tool to be top quality, easy to use, and super-efficient to make mealtimes a breeze. Almost every meal needs a good knife whether to chop up some vegetables, slice through some meat, or even cut a slice of cake. However, one thing I can’t deal with is a blunt knife, as cooking shouldn’t be an arm workout and blunt knives can actually lead to more accidents than a super sharp one. Therefore, I’m always on the hunt for knives that feel premium, stay super sharp, and don’t break the bank. This is where Imarku comes in, which has its own range of top-quality knives that are versatile, look great, and make chopping easy.
We got to test out the Classic Design Chef Knife, which has an 8-inch blade made from high-carbon stainless steel, supported by an ergonomic Pakka handle. Straight away the knife feels premium and sturdy in your hand, whilst looking great with a wood-like finish handle. Over the years I’ve used some pretty cheap knives which can feel a little flimsy, but this is not the case with the Classic Chef Knife. Instead, the knife feels solid, and when used for chopping the knife cuts smoothly without any hassle. When used for dicing it was so quick and easy, and the super sharp edge meant there was no fighting with it to get it to cut through anything from a tomato to a potato.
I’ve been trying to introduce new dishes into my usual rotation for dinner each week, which has meant I’ve spent many hours cooking away and testing out new recipes. Many require a variety of knife skills, and with the Classic Design Chef Knife from Imarku, I felt confident I could tackle a whole range of dishes as it provides a get all-round knife that can work great across a variety of techniques. Then once you’re finished with the knife, you can easily wash it up by hand ready for your next meal – although be sure to be careful when washing as it is very sharp!
I will note that for a single knife almost $50 may be a little pricey for many budgets. However, having tested out plenty of knives in my life, sometimes I do think it is worth it to invest in a good knife to make chopping easier, rather than spending less on a knife that may not be durable and stable to cook with. If you’re sick of blunt knives or want to invest a little in some new knives that will look great and make cooking easier the Imarku knives are a great place to start. Plus, with a variety of knives available from the Classic Chef Knife to smaller or larger blades for a whole range of uses, you really can't go wrong.
Pros:
- Super sharp blade that makes chopping and slicing super easy
- Sturdy, weighted, and durable knife for better control and stability during use
- Looks great with a woodlook finish handle
Cons:
- As with all knives it will become progressively blunt over time so it may be worth also investing in a good knife sharpener in addition to the knife to keep it perfect for even longer
- It is a little expensive for a single knife – but worth the investment if you’ll get the use out of it
