If you love hiking and camping, you’ve probably wrestled with a campfire to try and keep it alight so you can cook a nice breakfast and make a cup of coffee in the morning. For this reason, camping stoves have become increasingly popular among outdoor explorers to heat water and rehydrate food. Thus, Jetboil have developed the Flash 1.0L camping stove which delivers lightning-fast boiling to make cooking fast, convenient and easy to do.

The Jetboil Flash 1.0L camping stove we got to test out came in the lovely Mountainscape colourway, which includes a lovely mountain image in orange, brown and light blue across the insulated cosy that sits around the cooking pot. The cosy features an innovative thermochromatic colour-changing heat indicator, which alerts you when the pot is hot, both for safety and for easy cooking. The pot has a 1 litre capacity, providing ample space to make multiple cups of coffee or to rehydrate food for at least 2 people at once.

I like the compact design of the Jetboil Flash as all the components fit neatly inside the pot, with a clip-on measuring cup on the base. This cup can be used as a bowl for added convenience, and everything, including the igniter, can be fit inside. This makes the Jetboil Flash super convenient for hiking because your whole camping stove system can be packed into one complete unit that is compact yet still relatively lightweight.

In terms of heating, the Jetboil Flash is super easy to use. You just connect the fuel cannister with the base and twist to lock into place, and then fill the pot with food or water. To ignite the burner, it's super easy with a twist button, which you turn to the ignite setting and wait for the click. Once ignited, place the pot on the top, which will also rotate into place, then cover with the lid and your food will cook away as the cosy begins to change colour with the heat. You can use the front twist button to lower the flame and adjust your cooking; however, the Jetboil Flash boasts to have water boiling in just 120 seconds, which is perfect for quick pit stops for a coffee mid-adventure or to make cooking even quicker. Once your food is done, or your water has boiled, you just turn off the flame and remove the pot.

Plus, if you’re an avid camper, you’ll be glad to hear that the Jetboil Flash is also compatible with a whole range of Jetboil accessories designed to make your life easier. This includes a coffee press, hanging kit, pot support, FluxRing cooking pot and utensils, to make your Jetboil Flash even more functional.
