With festival season upon us it is easy to forget that sharing all those Insta photos and blasting out tunes back on the campsite will decimate your battery life in a matter of hours, let alone stand a chance of making it through the weekend. Thankfully the Anker PowerCore 20100 is a highly powerful, portable power bank that can recharge the iPhone 7 from 0-100% just shy of seven times and the Galaxy S6 up to five times as well as bring the iPad mini 4 back to life, twice. With a capacity of 20100 mAh / 72.36 wh it provides an output of 5V / 4.8A, operates on a 5V / 2A input and features a compact design that measures up at 6.5 x 2.3 x 0.9in making it easy to slip into your pocket or daypack.

Anything this powerful is going to have some weight to it, but at 356g it is surprisingly light. The matte finish claims to enhance your grip but makes me wonder how damn slippery it would be without as it still slid about in my hands. The included travel pouch eliminates this issue whilst still allowing you to charge your device through the opening. The PowerCore comes in a choice of white, black and blue, which helps you quickly identify whose is whose if your crew decides to get one too. The PowerIQ and VoltageBoost work together to deliver a fast charge (does not support Qualcomm Quick Charge), it takes a rather lengthy 10 hours to recharge with a 2amp charger, whilst phone chargers (generally 1 amp) may take up to 20 hours, however once fully charged it will hold that charge for up to 36 months before completely draining.

It is worth noting that to keep the battery healthy, it is worth running the battery down and recharging it at least once every 4 months. The 4.8A output provides enough power to simultaneously charge any combination of devices at full speed, whilst the MultiProtect Safety System Surge protection gives you short circuit protection and more advanced safety features keep you and your devices safe whilst charging. This charger will happily see you (and maybe your bestie) through a festival but is also great for travelling, day trips or enjoying a home BBQ, freeing you up from the mains whilst allowing you to stay connected.
