Myself and a group of friends went out for a birthday lunch last week that quickly degenerated into an all day drinking session. We spent the night swapping stories and taking a few stupid photos, then just like Cinderella, it all went wrong as the clock struck 12! Between all six of us, only one phone still had enough battery to call a taxi - the other five died over the 12 hours, just from taking a few photos and googling a few things to settle arguments (that’s how much the latest phones struggle to keep up with modern apps).

The Mophie Juice Pack Air for iPhone 7 (also available for the iPhone 7+) uses the ‘Mophie Charge Force’, which will wirelessly power on any wireless charging base and the power is sent to your device directly on contact, this allows the use of charge force docks to magnetically charge at any angle. The Juice Pack provides up to 100% extra battery, which is enough to extend the life for a maximum of 27 hours depending on what apps you are using (this number has been estimated by adding the mAh capacity of the Juice Pack Air battery to that of an iPhone 7 internal battery). The Juice Pack is also compatible with Qi and other wireless charging technologies; you can top off your phone and Juice Pack battery using other wireless charging systems, including those found at airports, coffee houses, and in many new cars.

Available in five colours, Black, Rose Gold, Gold, Navy and (PRODUCT) RED. For each sale of a Mophie product marked as (PRODUCT) RED, Mophie contribute 10% to The Global Fund to help eliminate AIDS. The battery has a capacity of 2,525mAh and dimensions of 5.90 x 2.80 x 0.65 inches (149.92 x 71.22 x 16.66 mm) making it chunky accessory, not much larger however than if you use a wallet case, and it is rather light for a battery of this capacity: just shy of 100g. It is important to note that to charge the Juice Pack you will need to use the Micro USB cable and not the regular iPhone lighting conductor. It has a matt finish which looks great but gets marked easier by greasy fingers and isn’t easy to clean up properly. There is also a clear light up display that will tell you the charge levels of the case at a push of a button.

This powerful case looks great and performs well - the only change I would like to see is the option of a battery pack integrated into a wallet style case, just so you don’t have to choose between power or protection and storage. RRP £89.95
