I love camping but as I mature in years my camping has evolved into being a very comfortable affair.  We have a huge tent which accommodates a cooker and a fridge so we can knock up a full meal with ease.  This Ultimate Base Camp Kit would be better tested by a more minimalistic camper.  I am always in awe of those campers who open their Trangia and cook away.  So, I asked a course fisherman friend, his style of fishing not his vocabulary, to try out the Ultimate Base Camp Kit over a couple of days and nights fishing.

This is an extremely efficient Camping Kit which is suitable for Fishing, hunting, Scouts, family picnics, Car Camping, Kayakers.  Add it to your wilderness / Disaster / Earthquake or Survival kit.   Superb camping gear or for anyone who works in or enjoys the outdoors.

He was firstly impressed by how compact the bag was.  It is amazing how much stuff is in here and once you start to lay out what the kit contains it is only highlighted.  It contains:

• 1.6ltr Stainless Steel Kettle & fire base. (New model kettle, no rivets & laser welded)
• Cook set      - which includes: 0.85ltr Pot / Frying Pan (pot lid) / 2 Piece Grill / Gripper Handle
• Pot Support - two pieces which flat pack for easy packing.
• Cup set         - 500 & 350ml cups with silicone CooLIp pieces, silicone coated foldable handles, measurements on the inside of the cup & polished interior for easy cleaning.
• Hobo Stove  - for cooking over the fire base.
• Camping Plate Set  (All the accessories are made from Stainless Steel)   
• Drawstring carrying bag 

 

The kettle itself holds 1/6 ltr and will let you know when it has boiled with the wonderful whistle of success.  The design means it boils really quickly.

 

This new and latest version of the kettle that we tested is an all welded construction and no rivets.   All items are Stainless Steel so will last for a long, long time and feel very hardy.

The kit Weighs 2.26kg / 4.95lb which is brilliant when you consider the amount of gear it holds.
