TreePod is the brainchild of Colorado company, Hanging Habitats, who love nothing more than literally hanging out! This KickStarter project had its success in 2015 with a pop-up tree house aimed at children however, this latest creation is aimed at adults with a hammock/tent/chair combination that lets you chill out whilst suspended off the ground. Inspired by those creatively bonkers Magis Spun Chairs the TreePod adopts a similar shape but offers a very different experience, it has silver mesh sides to allow for an open 360 degree view to ensure you don’t miss a thing, it also creates airflow keeping you cool by letting the natural breeze reach your skin and filling you up with the scent of the great outdoors.

You don’t have to let the bad weather stop you from enjoying the TreePod, it can also be set up indoors (if you have somewhere to hang it) stuff it with cushions and make yourself a cosy nest to avoid the bad weather. The TreePod comes in six attractive colours, Aquamarine, Graphite, Moss, Slate Blue, Terracotta and Ivory, and is available in three size, 4ft, 5ft and 6ft, they take up to a max weight of 500lb with the largest weighing 22.75 lbs. In the box you get the pod, rope, hand strap, frame, quick link and a carry bag. Don’t let the amount of gear intimidate you as it is simple to set up. Firstly you need to find your perfect location, with a stand costing £279.99 a tree is definitely your cheaper option, then slip in the frame just like you would a tent.

Next, you secure the hanging rope, toss it over your selected fixture, a branch for example (always ensure it will safely bare your weight, plus the weight of the TreePod) and pull to the desired height, then secure the hanging rope to a sturdy support to finish off, all that’s left to do then is climb in and relax. The TreePod has UV treated canvas but the mesh will let the suns rays get to your skin, there is also no rain or bug protection and its heavy weight means its much more suitable for glamping or replacing traditional garden furniture then for travelling or replacing tents. It will take a little bit of practise and thought to set it up correctly but once mastered it is comfortable and relaxing, an interesting upgrade to the hammock. RRP £329.99
