The Loupedeck+ is a cool little device that works alongside Adobe Lightroom Classic CC and Aurora HDR, with the promise of other leading photo editing software to be added later in the year. You can get your creativity on in a fast and intuitive way, with buttons, dials and sliders to play with, you can precisely adjust without taking your eyes away from the screen or scrolling through endless menus.

You can use multiple editing functions at the same time with ease, the + has improved mechanical keys with a classic feel, more functionalities and more customisation options than the original. To use the Loupedeck+ you will need the following requirements: Adobe Lightroom 7.4 or later, Aurora HDR, Beta integration with Capture One, and work from either Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7, Mac OS 10.12 or later version, an internet connection for Loupedeck+ software downloaded as well as a USB 2.0 A.

The Loupedeck+ allows for faster editing with improved ergonomics - it lets your eyes focus on the image and keeps your hand on the console, so you don’t have to remove your eyes from the picture at any time. Suitable for both pros and beginners, there are loads of ways to customise the controls for your favourite editing tools. It’s amazing how quickly your hands get used to the controls and they are all nicely spaced, so you can comfortably get at them. The functions include colour management - this is controlled by the sliders - a few dials and buttons and it lets you modify the colours no matter how small they are. The Lighting Adjustments are controlled by the dials, whilst the personalised functions let you choose the right tools to fit the way you edit. The General Functions utilise the large control dial and helps to speed up your workflow with instant common functions, like ‘before/after’, ‘copy/paste’ and ‘undo/redo’.

Strangely, I got a lot of pleasure from using that Control Dial. The Custom Mode lets you control the most delicate of functions like the Tone Curve, Split Toning, Sharpening and Noise Reduction, for example, whilst the Keyboard Mode lets you convert rating buttons into common keyboard modifiers: Esc, Shift, Ctrl, Alt/Option, Tab and Win/Command.

I normally find editing a massive chore and end up with a dead hand from using the mouse too long; the Loupedeck+ not only made the job much faster but injected a bit of fun into it too - I felt like a pro playing around with all the dials. The new improvements make an already good product an excellent product. Upgrade your editing game and enjoy bringing your photos to life! RRP €229.00
