Geomag Magicube Blocks and Cards 16Pcs
£32
With just 3 block shapes, Magicube Block and cards allow little learners to develop their fine motor skills, whilst learning about shapes and colours. In the box are a range of 3D magnetic shapes including 4 circular arc, 4 triangle and 2 cube shapes, along with 6 double-sided construction cards. Each card uses these shapes to allow children to identify the correct colour and shape of the figures, and then work to put them together following the card as a guide.
I was impressed with the quality of the shapes which seamlessly magnetise together using hidden internal magnets. The blocks are larger than others from previous Geomag ranges which is great for safety, as well as helping younger learners to develop colours and patterns through these simple but effective shapes. The range is designed for ages 2-5 years and provides a great activity for children which is both fun and educational.
Whilst the 12 figures on the cards provide a great starting point for young learners, the cubes allow children to begin to grow their imaginations and creativity to build new and exciting shapes using what they have learned from the cards. The move from structured to free-form play allows the Magicube sets to grow with your child. My only issue is that there are only 10 blocks in the set, so as children develop, they may be looking for a greater number of blocks for larger building potential – however, this may be the perfect time to buy a larger set or move your child on to another of the Geomag range as your child continues to develop.
If you are looking for a fun gift for your little ones this festive season or are simply looking for an educational gift that helps develop a young creative mind, then this is the choice for you. Not only does it provide clear educational benefits, but it also is made with 100% recycled plastic so you can feel good about buying it too. A budding learner or construction enthusiast would be thrilled to find this underneath the tree this December!
