Skullcandy PUSH ANC Active Earbuds

Skullcandy is a brand where sound quality, comfortable fit, and easy functionality meet to deliver a great listening experience no matter the headphone model. Skullcandy’s new PUSH ANC earbuds mesh comfortability, top-quality waterproofing, and superior sound into the new ANC Active model, which delivers an excellent audio experience every time.
The PUSH ANC Active Earbuds come in a sturdy black hardshell case, which clips shut around the earbuds. Each earbud features a low-profile ear hanger design that hooks over the top of your ear to deliver a secure yet comfortable fit no matter your activity. The earbuds we tested came in an all-black design, with the Skullcandy logo in a bright orange colour for a little added pop to the otherwise quite minimalist earbud design.
One of my favourite aspects of the Active ear hook design is that I could put the earbuds in before a run, or even a particularly dynamic workout session knowing that they’d remain in place in my ears no matter the level of movement or activity. This secure fit is paired with an IP67 Waterproof rating which ensures that they’re also reliably sweat and waterproof, so you never have to worry about the earbuds getting damp whilst you’re on a run, caught in a rain shower, or even in a sweaty gym class. Therefore, the PUSH ANC Active Earbuds are designed to make the perfect addition for any athlete as they promise to help you get into the zone and never hold you back.
A key way that the PUSH ANC Active Earbuds ensure you are never held back is through its top-quality active noise cancellation (ANC) mode. The ANC mode ensures that you can tune out the noise around you and focus in on your own little world – perfect for training sessions to remain in the zone and focused on hitting your goals. I loved using the ANC in the gym after work which is typically quite busy and loud. I could switch to the ANC mode and focus on each weight and movement whilst blasting my most motivating music. However, once my session was over, I loved that the earbuds could then be switched over to the Stay Aware mode where you can hear your music, but also the world around you for added safety. This was great for listening for traffic or people around me, without even having to take the earbuds out.
The PUSH ANC Active Earbuds deliver top-quality sound supported by its 12mm drivers that ensure you get a punchy bass for those super motivating tracks, as well as a clear and full melody. Plus, to make your music even more personalised to your preferences, you can customize the equalisation (EQ) of the earbuds via the Skullcandy app to get the sound perfect for you and your music preferences.
One of the key features I’m always looking for when I choose a pair of earbuds is the battery life, and the PUSH ANC Active Earbuds do not disappoint. With the ANC turned on, the earbuds provide 37 hours of sound, with 7 hours stored in the earbuds and a further 30 hours in the case. This is a great length and ensures that even on a busy day out and about, or long weekend you’re unlikely to need to recharge your earbuds at all. Plus, with the ANC mode turned off, the earbuds can last up to 58 hours, with 12 hours in the earbuds alone and a further 46 from the case. However, when it does come time to charge, a big perk of the PUSH ANC Active Earbuds is that they are compatible with wireless charging – although they do also come with a wire for charging should you not have a wireless charger already.
As we start looking for presents in the lead up to Christmas, a good pair of headphones that deliver great sound without compromising on comfortability or functionality is always a great choice. Plus, with Skullcandy you can never go wrong, as they always deliver a great audio experience for such affordable price points.
Pros:
- Long battery life both with and without the ANC turned on
- Secure fit with top quality sweat and water proofing
- Great sounds quality – even with Stay Aware mode on for safety
Cons:
- If you do not want to use wireless charging the included wire is a little bit short which makes wired charging a little inconvenient
