Not only to allow you to see where you’re going, but also to provide a bit of ambience. This is where the LuminAID Modular Solar Lanterns come in to provide three separate units that can be arranged around your garden, house or campsite to illuminate the area with a lovely glow.

The LuminAID Modular Solar Lanterns set includes 3 modular lanterns that connect together on a shared solar docking station. Each unit can then be disconnected and configured around your area to distribute light. The set includes a larger rectangular unit and two small square units. Each light can produce a warm, cool or bright white light, making them super adjustable and ideal for a gentle warm ambience with the warm setting, or a more visible illumination with the cool and bright setting.

The station allows all three units to be charged up by the sun, which takes roughly 35 hours to achieve a full charge. However, this charging can be supplemented by charging with a USB cable, which can charge the unit in just a few hours. Once charged, the units deliver hours of operation, although the longevity of each unit’s battery is based on the light setting you use. For the high settings, the rectangular and cube units last around 2 hours, with the lower power modes delivering greater longevity of battery life. In fact, in the candle flicker mode, the rectangle light can last as long as 100 hours. The long battery life on the units makes them an ideal addition to any camping or hiking trip, or even just for leaving on in the garden when you have people over.

One of my favourite things about the units is that they have been designed with functionality in mind and so feature a magnetic plate which allows you to attach them to metal objects. In addition, each one has its own strap handle, which allows you to hang the units from things. This is super ideal for hanging from garden furniture or from the top of your tent to provide you with a nifty little night light. However, the lanterns don’t just deliver light; in fact, the larger rectangular unit also doubles as a phone charger. The unit features a 2000mAh battery that you can plug your phone into to keep your devices charged even when you’re away from a plug socket. This is the perfect addition to the lantern units as it adds yet another function to their operation, making them the perfect solar-powered battery ideal for camping or hiking.
