Micro Player Mini Games Consoles

These cute little games units are a must-have for arcade fans, collectors and retro hunters.  They have all the playability and addictiveness of the originals and are the ultimate desk addition.

Let’s face it - owning an original, full-sized classic arcade unit is way beyond most of us. So, Micro Player have produced these mini games consoles to fulfil the fantasy, and Gadgethead were sent three units to try. If you’re an arcade fan, you’ll sure to remember all of these:

PonyCycle Ride On Unicorn

For all of you who said they would never be able to successfully combine a horse with a bicycle, be prepared to feel very silly indeed. For the rest of you who think normal thoughts with your brain, let me introduce you to the PonyCycle. Children and their slow growing limbs have to wait until the ripe old age of seven before most instructors will throw them into the saddle, so this might make a suitable substitute until then, after all it looks incredibly realistic - well no that’s a lie - but it is super cute and fuzzy.

Poopsie Unicorn Slime Surprise

For reasons unbeknown to me, kids friggin’ love these things! This mystical unicorn will poop out slime, just like real unicorns, the poop can then be customised and transformed multiple times. There are also 10 magical surprises including a collectible bottle and poop character keychain, mystery scent dropper, unicorn spoon, collector's sheet and unicorn food (slime powder). Colours and styles may vary, there are 18 to collect in total, so what a great way to celebrate Christmas by watching a Unicorn poop slime everywhere and ruin your carpet.

Sphero Mini

The Sphero Mini is the baby of the Sphero family: This cute little dude squeezes a lot of fun into a tiny package. It comes in a choice of five starter colours: Blue, Pink, White, Orange and Green and comes with three Mini Traffic Cones and six Mini Bowling Pins. Apple have also recently launched three exclusive colours, Red, Purple and Grey.

Sphero BOLT

Sphero is well known for creating smart toys with personality and the newest member of the robot family, BOLT, is no different. This is an app-enabled robotic ball that allows you to get creative whilst secretly sneaking in some education about coding.

Groover Sledge 47”

Last year in the UK we had unprecedented amounts for snow that divided the nation with two types of reactions, those complaining constantly to anyone that will listen about how bad the weather is and those not listening because they are too busy digging through their shed for something that will work as a make shift sledge. This year you can be fully prepared with the Groover Sledge, made from a soft foam the Groover is super light so you will have no trouble running it back up the hill again and again.

Science Museum Smartphone Microscope

This smart little attachment from the Science Museum transforms your phone into a portable microscope, it will attach to almost any smartphone, and lets you get a sneak peek into the mirco-world and snap photos of your discoveries. It simply slides on over the camera lens and the foam padding protects both the lens and screen from becoming scratched, suitable for the study of rocks and soils at Key Stage 1 and 2 as well as the structure and function of living organisms at Key Stage 3.
