I love my bikes. But unlike many cyclists what I don’t love is a house full of cycling accessories!
RRP £179.99
Cycling without the option of listening to your favourite tracks or answering a – potentially important – call can become a battle of wills. However if music or conversation compromise safety then I’ll simply go without. But what if they don’t?
This is the Traveller heated gilet by Blazewear.
Beanie X
The Beanie X is a rechargeable LED head torch built into a beanie, and as both a torch and a beanie, it’s fantastic. The first thing I noticed when testing the Beanie X is that the narrow beam setting is extremely bright, at 200 lumens. (Don’t look directly into it when you first turn it on!) The six settings are easy to click through: in total, there’s a narrow beam, a high, medium and low wide beam, and a flashing or steady red beam.
When you ride a bike, you must wear a helmet whether you like it or not! Even if it isn’t a law that you must, you should do it for your own sake. Safety is paramount, you simply can’t trust the people who drive those big scary metal death boxes on the road.
We received the Peak Design Travel Dufflepack 65L in the Sage design (also available in Black) which looks rather unique whilst remaining discrete about the precious and expensive equipment it embraces. Offering out a minimum of 45L up to a whopping 65L of space when expanded so you don’t need to compromise on which gear you decide to take with you, whilst the ergonomic padded backpack-style adjustable shoulder, waist and sternum straps ensure even the heaviest loads are support comfortable across your body.
The Wrkshp Kellett is a tough 25L backpack from Dakine, constructed from a four-layer lamination sailcloth, 210D nylon and polyester with ripstop face and durable water repellent finish making it suitable for exploring everything from the city to more rugged environments. The Kellett measures up at 21 x 12 x 6" and comes with its very own removable accessory case (8 x 5.5 x 2") which can be used to store headphones, snacks or toiletries.
